The aim of the pilot project was to refine the design of the study. This experiment examines infant and caregiver sitting at a table watching toys appearing in one of the three boxes in front of them while interacting in a free-flowing manner. Each trial contains a defined amount of information gain (i.e., where the toy appears). We hypothesize that infants pay more attention during trials that offer more information gain as expressed in a lower probability of looking away during those trials.
