Sods of Zostera noltii were transplanted from natural seagrass beds to selected locations in the Oosterschelde. In order to optimize transplantation success we experimentally tested the effect of i) several configurations of the sods and ii) a shell layer that excluded benthic ecosystem engineers. The project ran from 2007 to 2015 and contained several seagrass tranplantation over the years. This dataset contains the seagrass shootnumbers of the transplants from the moment of transplant till the end of the 2013 growing season. This project was funded by Rijkswaterstaat and scientifically executed by the Radboud University Nijmegen.
