Compares the relative effectiveness of contextual variables & individual characteristics in explaining votes for confessional political parties in the Netherlands, 1986-1991. Two-level logistic analysis of ML3 microdata from 244,050 respondents in 582 Dutch municipalities indicates that the contextual variable of religious diversity has no independent effect on party choice, while the individual characteristic of church membership has a small positive effect on confessional political party choice.
