Abstract

Perhaps the most common and most debilitating comorbid disorder with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is intellectual disability (ID). The overlap of these conditions has been studied extensively. This chapter provides an overview of the research that has been published on the topic. Subjects such as how symptoms are displayed, the current notions about prevalence, and how these problems affect prognosis are covered.
