Abstract:	A 2-year-old boy presented with a 1.5-year history of recurrent cough, wheeze and feeding problems. An x-ray of the thorax and an oesophagogram showed constriction of the trachea and proximal portion of the oesophagus. On endoscopy a foreign body was found, embedded in extensive granulation tissue. This could only be removed surgically via oesophagotomy, and turned out to be a plastic toy coin.
